FORWARD IN FAITH: ELEVATING EMPOWERED YOUNG WOMEN

At DSHA, we are embarking on a bold new chapter with the launch of our capital campaign, Forward in Faith: Elevating Empowered Young Women. This ambitious initiative aims to enhance the educational experience for future generations of students by investing in critical infrastructure, innovative programs, security, competitive athletic fields, and scholarships that ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.

We have embarked on a philanthropic campaign to enhance the DSHA experience for the young women of today and tomorrow. The coming years will bring leadership roles to more women than ever before. The improvements we plan ensure our graduates are ready for the challenges that come their way.

Every member of the DSHA community is a beneficiary of the vision, dedication, and past generosity of parents, alumnae, and friends, along with the Sisters of the Divine Savior and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. As members of the DSHA community, we serve as stewards responsible for not only preserving the legacy of faithful excellence, but also for preparing the school and its students for the future. Now it's up to us to ensure the legacy of excellence continues for our students today and for the next generation.

Campaign Priorities

Updated Learning Environments

DSHA has offered one of the strongest STEM education programs in the region for more than a century. Students' interest in STEM has begun to outpace our facilities over the last decade. To support the needs, interests, and achievements of our students and faculty, we seek to add and improve our 50-year-old STEM education facilities. These updated spaces will allow further studies across disciplines including physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, and computer science.

We're committed to providing an environment of excellence that is safe, healthy, technology-driven, and accessible for all. Classroom furnishings will be updated, and the elevator, bathrooms, HVAC, and electrical systems will be replaced. These improvements will have a pronounced impact on efficiency, comfort, and cost-effectiveness.

Building a Campus Community

We will provide a gated environment with approximately 100 additional parking spaces to accommodate everyone safely on campus. Feedback to DSHA shows students and parents value the added security that controlled access provides at school. DSHA is committed to providing a safe, welcoming campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Additionally, we seek to upgrade our current athletic facilities and make the best possible use of space on campus to build top-quality practice and competitive fields. The ability to practice, play, and host games on campus will allow for greater participation and help bolster the sense of community. This will support the 64% of our students who participate in athletics and our strong Dasher Athletic program, which includes 15 varsity sports.

Endowment & Scholarship

DSHA's first scholarship recipient was in the Holy Angels Academy founding class of 1892. Our scholarship recipients help make DSHA more representative of the increasingly diverse community in which we live and help create the strongest student body possible. We aim to ensure motivated young women can access an outstanding Catholic, college-preparatory education.

The annual amount of financial aid grants awarded to our students greatly exceeds the $1,000,000 currently generated by our endowment. Nearly half (44%) of our students in need receive financial aid, and applications for assistance are on the rise given the economic climate. Additional endowment funds will help ensure we can continue to offer holistic, premier education to all eligible young women regardless of financial status.
