Parent-Teacher Conferences Information | Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, October 7,  5:15-8:15 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 8, 4:15-6:45 p.m. Conferences will be held via Zoom. Sign-ups for the Parent-Teacher conference slates are open and will close Tuesday, October 7 at noon.
    • To sign up for a conference, log in to myDSHA and click on the resources tab at the top. From there, locate the Parent-Teacher Conference tile and click on it to access your daughter’s schedule and teachers. School Counselor sign-ups are also located on the resources page, as well as the Director of Applied Wellness Joanna McQuide, DSHA '93, and Academic Interventionist Katie Klinger Leszczynski, DSHA '10. You can make an appointment with your daughter’s teachers, school counselor, or additional professionals.
    • Conferences are five minutes long and serve as an opportunity for DSHA faculty to share specifics about your daughter and answer any questions you may have. If you need longer than five minutes, please email your daughter’s teachers to set up additional time.
    • You can attend the Zoom conference wherever it best meets your needs, whether that be from home, work, or your phone—anywhere you are able to get an internet connection and on a device that works for you. We do ask that you turn on your camera so DSHA faculty can see you, put a face to a name, and connect with you more effectively.

    PSAT Testing - Juniors

Junior PSAT Testing Wednesday, October 8, 7:50-10:45 a.m. | DSHA will administer the PSAT, a practice SAT exam, to juniors on Wednesday, October 8. The test is completely digital, and DSHA will be providing laptops for students to take the test. The test should be approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes and end at 10:45 a.m. It tests students’ skills in reading, writing, and math.
    A few important reminders:
    • Your daughter should plan to arrive early to check in for the test. The PSAT will start promptly at 7:50.
    • Freshman, sophomore, and senior students do NOT have classes on Wednesday, October 8.
    • The results will be used to determine students who qualify for National Merit Scholarships, a national academic recognition and scholarship program for all juniors conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The National Merit Scholarship program recognizes the top 3% of high school juniors nationally based on their PSAT scores.
    • Students can study using these test prep resources.
If you would like to opt your daughter out of the PSAT or have any questions, please email or call Testing Coordinator/College Assistant Amy Lund at 414-721-2913.

    Creighton University Senior Interviews

Creighton University Senior Interviews | Creighton University is hosting an interview day for DSHA seniors on Tuesday, October 28. These casual meetings offer seniors the opportunity to meet individually with Beth Sullivan-Piskel, Associate Director of Admissions at Creighton. Students can ask any questions they have about the application process, scholarships, and more. Meetings will take place in Student Services at DSHA. If you prefer to set up a Zoom appointment at another time, feel free to reach out to Beth at piskel@creighton.edu
