Once again, thank you so much for auditioning to be a part of this show. Excited is definitely an understatement and I can’t wait to start rehearsals in fall.
First, some orders of business. Please
sign up for our Hadestown Band here. Communication for this show will primarily be done through this app since there are so many boys from so many different schools. You are welcome to join now and stay tuned for rehearsal info coming in August. In general, rehearsals will start at 4:30 each day and start after Labor Day. There will be an opportunity to complete a Conflict Calendar later.
Second, I just wanted to note that, with each cast list, there will be some people who are very excited and some people who are disappointed. We are asking you to remember to be the goodness and kindness and keep the emotions of those around you in mind. We also hope you see the inherent value of being part of a production like this, regardless of the size of your role. It’s really going to be a blast, and you won’t want to miss it. Trust that the Production Team will find ways to feature as many of you as possible!
Third, since this show is so demanding vocally, we are going to pilot an understudy program. Understudies will serve primarily in the Workers Ensemble but will be guaranteed at least one performance of their own as well. More details to follow!
Finally, we hope that you take some time to really listen to these songs over the summer. Inevitably, there will be some changes from the Broadway version to the Teen Edition, but we hope you all come prepared with your songs familiarized as well as some thoughtful character analysis.
