Testing Dates

  • PSAT Exam for Juniors: October 8, 2025

    Junior students will take the PSAT online on Wednesday, October 9. The PSAT is 2 hours and 45 minutes and will test students’ skills in reading, writing, and math.

    The results will be used to determine students who qualify for National Merit Scholarships, a national academic recognition and scholarship program for all juniors conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The National Merit Scholarship program recognizes the top 3% of high school juniors nationally based on their PSAT scores.
  • Pre-ACT for Freshmen & Sophomores: March 10, 2026

    Freshmen and sophomores will take the Pre-ACT on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. The Pre-ACT is good preparation for the ACT. 
  • ACT Exam: March 10, 2026

    Juniors will take the ACT on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. This is the Wisconsin state testing day for the ACT.  
  • AP Tests: May 2026

    AP tests take place May 4-8 and May 11-15, 2026. Consult the DSHA calendar for the date of each specific test.

  • Do they offer ACT, PSAT, and/or SAT practice tests?

    Test topics include:
    • English—tests your knowledge of grammar, usage, and organization
    • Math—includes topics such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data analysis, and trigonometry
    • Reading—assesses your reading comprehension skills
    • Science—tests your ability to analyze and interpret scientific information
    • Writing (optional)—requires you to write an essay that expresses your position on the issue presented
    Practice for the test online, zero in on your strengths and weaknesses, and make sure you're ready.
  • Are there test prep books?

    Peterson's ACT Prep Guide or Master the New SAT has been completely updated in an online format and will help you get ready for the ACT/SAT. You'll get an overview of the exam, subject reviews of key topic areas (including English, math, reading, science, and writing), test-taking tips and strategies, and detailed scoring information. You'll also have the chance to practice your skills and diagnose your strengths and weaknesses by taking four practice tests with detailed answer explanations.
  • Are there opportunities for AP Exam prep?

    The Advanced Placement (AP) program gives students the chance to earn college-level credits through a series of exams.

    • Explore subjects at a more in-depth level
    • Save time and money
    Qualifying scores on AP exams may earn you credit and advanced standing at many colleges and universities. Check with the schools you're interested in to confirm specific requirements.
