As a fellow Dasher, I am honored to welcome you to this remarkable group of women. Fifteen years ago I was sitting in your very seats (but at the Midwest Express Center, now the Baird Center) in my white dress and gloves, alongside Mathematics Faculty Libby Wissing, DSHA '10, and St. Angela Merici Academic Support Program Interventionist Katie Klinger Leszczynski, DSHA '10. You all would have been…two, three? I’m sure your parents feel like they blinked and here you are today, ready to embark on your next academic journey.
Class of 2025, you are a part of an institution that has been successfully educating and shaping young women in the Milwaukee area for 133 years. As you join the ranks of alumnae from Divine Savior High School, Holy Angels Academy, and Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, the sisterhood you started with your classmates your freshman year is now a part of this larger community of women.
While you may not be physically in the building every day moving forward, you will always be a part of its history and legacy. Remember what you learned here, the people you met, and that you are always welcome back.
Look at your classmates around you: You will cross paths with them and fellow Dashers in the future — I guarantee it. Not only the friends you made while in high school, but also with people you might not have met yet. You might become colleagues, neighbors, volunteers, book club members, and maybe even sisters-in-law with a Dasher. Which is all the more reason to remember to be good and kind to those around you.
At this time, I ask all alumnae of Holy Angels Academy, Divine Savior High School, and DSHA in our audience to stand.
We represent over 15,000 women who have been educated through a common mission to be women of faith, heart, and intellect.
Alumnae, please remain standing. Current graduates, please stand. Look around you. You are part of something much bigger than your class of 2025.
The faith, traditions, visions, and successes of your fellow alumnae have been passed on to you. You are woven into the fabric of our school, and our hope is that you continue to add your stories to our history.
Alumnae, please extend your hands towards our graduates for a blessing:
Class of 2025: We offer our prayers for you and ask for God’s blessings on each of you. May you continue to be women of faith, self-advocates, critical thinkers, communicators, and leaders. We welcome you as alumnae and pray that you accept the gospel call to live lives that will make a difference in this world. Amen!
Congratulations to our newest group of alumnae!
