After a successful track and field career at DSHA and Notre Dame University, Jadin O'Brien, DSHA '20, is taking on a new challenge.
After concluding her final collegiate track and field season at Notre Dame (and earning her Master’s degree in Nonprofit Administration) this year, Jadin O'Brien, DSHA '20, is ready to hit the ice. O'Brien joined the World Cup Team for Team USA Bobsled this September.
The transition from track to ice is new for O'Brien, but success is not. During her time at DSHA, she earned three state titles: 2017 300-meter hurdles, 2019 300-meter hurdles, and 2019 100-meter hurdles. O'Brien, is also a three-time national pentathlon champion.
“We are extremely proud of Jadin’s accomplishment in becoming a member of Team USA," said Athletic Director Kevin Roethe. "Jadin continues to make the DSHA community proud, and I love that Dashers have a reason to cheer her on at the World Cup!"
The World Cup competition is a big step toward qualifying for the Winter Olympics. The Olympic team roster will be announced in January 2026.
